Can any other graduate than mentioned above apply for the Diploma in Advanced Computing ?

Yes. All the modules are designed in consultation with the IT Industry.
What is the procedure to get application form ?
Candidate who wish to apply for the Diploma in Advanced Computing (DAC) course, is required to register for the course on our website http://acts.cdac.in. On successful registration, the candidate will get Login & Password. With the help of this login ID & password the candidate can fill the online application form. Or Candidate can also fill in the printed application form at C-DAC, ACTS / any other authorized training center of C-DAC, ACTS offering DAC course.
How to fill manual application form ?
Candidate should carefully fill in the manual application form and the same is need to be submitted along with the fees of Rs.600/- (Rupees Six hundred only)(for manual only) at Orlando Academy CDAC ATC.
How will the candidate get the “login & Password”, if he/she fills the manual application form?
When Candidate is through with filling of manual application form and submits the same along with DD of Rs. 600 /-, then the center fills the registration form and application form on behalf of the candidate. On successful registration the centre will send eMail to the candidate informing the login ID & Password. Later candidate should use online system for further admission process.
What all things are required while filling the application form?
Before filling in the application form, the candidate must ensure that the DD of Rs.500 /- (for online) is ready, Scanned photograph of the candidate in .jpg format & all the academic details of the candidate. Please keep the above details ready before filling in the application. These information is required while filling in the online application form.
In which format the scanned photograph should be?
Scanned photograph should be in the format of the .jpg
What should be the size of the scanned photograph ?
The Size of the photograph should be 250X 270 pixels. If there is any problem in scanning the photograph, candidate can take the help of the concerned person in the cyber café or contact any of the C-DAC centre offering DAC course.
Can a candidate do multiple registrations?
No. Candidate is required do the only one registration for the course. In case the candidate does multiple registrations or appear for both the CETs his/her candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the selection process.
When can a candidate be able to select the center for appearing for CET?
Candidate will be able to select the center for appearing for CET, only after the receipt of registration fee DD at C-DAC, ACTS, Pune. Candidates are advised to check the status of the DD after the seven days of dispatch of the same. Only after the DD received at C-DAC, ACTS, Pune candidate can select the city and the examination center for CET. For this, the candidate needs to log on to acts website using login ID & password.
How can candidate get admit card?
Candidate can download the admit card by logging in our website at http://acts.cdac.in. using the login and password in student’s member’s area. Admit Card is must for appearing for the CET.
Can a candidate change the date of CET / examination center / time slot?
What is the CET? Is there any negative marking involved?
The CET is Common Entrance shall Test. CET consist of an online test of 150 objective type questions. Each question shall carry 1 mark. There will be negative marking. Quarter (0.25) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
What is the fees for the course? Can I pay the same in installments?
The fee for the course is Rs. 79,000/-* (Rupees Seventy nine Thousand only) to be paid in two installments by Demand Drafts drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of “C-DAC, ACTS” and payable at Pune. The first installment is Rs. 2,500/- (Rupees Two Thousand five hundred Only) and the remaining amount has to be paid as second installment. For the schedule of payment of fees please refer to course eBrochure on our website * The fees has been revised from the August 2010 batch.
Is the course fee refundable ?

What is the syllabus for Common Entrance Test (CET)
Section I :Computing Fundamentals (10 marks) Evolutions of computers, Computer generations, Computer organization, Primary and Secondary storage, Input-output devices, Computer software, Operating systems, Data communications and computer networking, Multimedia, Classification of computers, etc. Section II : Fundamentals of Programming (20 marks) Algorithms, Flowcharts, Computer languages, System implementation and operation, File organizations and Data processing, etc. Section III :Programming in C (50 marks) Introductory concepts, C Fundamentals, Operators and Expressions, Data Input and Output, Control statement, Functions, Arrays, Pointers, Structures and Unions, Arrays, Stacks, Queues and Linked Lists (Single, double, Circular), etc. Section IV :Object Oriented Programming Concepts (20 marks) Understanding of the object oriented concepts, such as Classes and Objects, Generalizations, Polymorphism, Abstract Classes and Re-usability, etc. Section V : General Aptitude (50 marks) Questions shall be modeled on GMAT pattern
What is Pre –DAC course ?
Pre –DAC is preparatory course for DAC which is offered by some of our authorized training center who is offering the DAC course.
Does C-DAC,ACTS offers Pre-DAC course ?
Can candidate’s will be able to get the previous year’s Question papers ?
How exactly the CET result will be shown to me ?
The results of the CET will be displayed on the Website along with the percentile score of the candidates. A Message clearly indicating whether the candidate has qualified for admission to DAC or not will be flashed. For this purpose candidates need to log on to the Website of C-DAC, ACTS i.e. http//acts.cdac.in. Apart from cutoff percentile, the candidate will be shown the cut off percentile of the centers. This cutoff percentile will help the candidate while he/she selects the center.
When Can a candidate should select the Centre for the Stage II & III ?
Candidate will be able to select the center for stage II & III only after the receipt of DD of Rs.2,500 to C-DAC,ACTS, Pune as first instalment. The Dates for selecting the center is shown on our website http://acts.cdac.in. for this the candidate need to login using the login Id & Password.
What is the difference between ACTS and ATC’s?
ACTS are C-DAC owned centers where as ATC’s are Authorized Training Centers imparting different courses offered by C-DAC, ACTS, NRC.
What are the facilities offered by the ATC’s?
All the ATC’s are functioning as per the set standards and guidelines by C-DAC, Pune and provide the similar academic facilities as C-DAC, ACTS provides.
Is the Faculty is from C-DAC, ACTS?
Every centre identifies its own faculty. Generally faculties are called from the Industry.
What is the scope of the course?
The scope of the course is immense as this is a unique curriculum designed by C-DAC and has successfully launched itself as a trend-setting course which is recognized and widely accepted by the IT industry.
Faculty of the ATC’s?
Some of the faculties at ATC’s are from the industry and as per the C-DAC laid norms.
Bank loan assistance for the other centres?
Major Nationalized Banks offer the facility of educational loans to the selected candidates as per the norms of the individual banks. Specifically the Bank of India vide its circular number HO 93/15 dated April 21, 1999 have recognized DAC course of C-DAC for the processing of Educational Loan under “VIDYA VARDHINI SCHEME”.
Can I have the change of center for undergoing DAC course?
C-DAC does not encourage any transfers under any circumstances whatsoever; as the selection is strictly based on performance in CET. Hence no transfer is possible.
Revision of the course contents, is it every six months?
The course contents are revised and updated according to the industry needs and when found relevant to the market demands.
Do you guarantee any Placement?
No, we do not guarantee any placements but provide complete assistance to the DAC students to help them place themselves.
Do you have centralized placement cell?
Yes, we do have a centrally coordinated placement programme where the C-DAC, ACTS, NRC actively coordinates the placement activity at the respective centers for all eligible students.
If the course is done from ATC’s, where will I get the certificate?
Candidate can do the course from ACTS or ATCs of C-DAC. The certificate for the students will be issued by C-DAC, ACTS, NRC after successful completion of the course.
What is the value of the course in the international market?
The course has been a trend-setting course due to its unique curriculum and kind of opportunities that it generates. The course has wide industry acceptance. Our past students are working in the leading IT companies all across the globe.
Can I know the individual center placement statistics?
When does the course commences?
Twice in a year in the month of August and February.
When will we get the course announcement in the media?
Normally starting from the month of April and September every year for the batches starting in August and February respectively.
Can candidate appear for all the CET’s
No. Candidate can appear only for one CET.
PRE – CAT
I have obtained degree in engineering or MCA through distance education mode. Am I eligible to apply for admission to C-DAC’s PG Diploma?
All candidates (including distance education mode) meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned in C-DAC’s Admission Booklet can apply.
When are the application forms of C-CAT available?
The online application forms for C-CAT are usually uploaded in May for the June C-CAT and in November for the December C-CAT. The link for the application form is www.cdac.in, then click on Education & Training.
How and where to submit the C-CAT application form?
The C-CAT application form is available online and can be submitted online by paying fees through online mode by using credit/debit cards.
What are the different sections of the C-CAT examination?
C-CAT has three sections (Section A, Section B, Section C) of one hour duration each. Depending on the category of courses selected by the candidate, he/she will have to either appear for just one test paper (Section A) or two test papers (Section A and Section B) or all the three test papers (Section A, Section B and Section C). This test is conducted in computerized mode and carries negative marking for wrong answers.
What are the fees for C-CAT?
For candidates who opt (in the online application) to use their own laptops for C-CAT, the examination fee for Category I (Section A) is Rs. 1000/-, for Category II (Section A & B) is Rs. 1200/- and for Category III (Sections A, B & C) is Rs. 1400/-.
A computer usage charge of Rs. 200/- will be added to the above-mentioned fee, if the candidate opts in the online application to use the computer of the C-CAT centre.
How to obtain the admit cards for C-CAT?
Candidates can download and print their admit cards from C-DAC’s website after logging in.
How can I do some corrections (spelling, marks, %, year of passing, e-mail address, residence address etc.) in my C-CAT application form?
Correction in e-mail address and mobile number should be mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org . If students have made mistakes with respect to name, marks, year of passing, they may correct the same by providing correct data at the time of admission to the course.
Why I am not able to login even after providing correct login id and password?
Sometimes candidates register for more than once and get multiple form numbers, but finally they make payment using a particular form number. In such cases, candidates should check the C-CAT result, seat allocation etc using the valid form numbers. Sometimes login problems may arise due to network problem, etc.
