The Diploma in Advanced Software Development Methodologies (DASDM) course is targeted towards students who wish to venture into the domain of computing. The DASDM course aims to groom the students to enable them to work on current technology scenarios as well as prepare them to keep pace with the changing face of technology and the requirements of the growing IT industry. After the completion of the course, students can work as software developer, programmer, tester, System Analyst and the like, in the IT industry and associated service sectors.

Course Duration, Eligibility and Fees

Course Duration: The DASDM course is of one year duration with the course syllabus being distributed in four trimesters (3 months duration each).

Eligibility: Minimum eligibility criteria to appear for admission to DASDM course is as follows:

  • • Graduate/Post Graduate in Engineering or Science or Computer related streams.
  • • The candidates must have secured a minimum of agregate 50% marks in their qualifying degree examination.

Course Pre-requisites: Sound knowledge of Computing Fundamentals and Fundamentals of Programming is essential. Candidates who have appeared for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2015 will also be considered for admission to the above courses. By qualifying in C-DAC's Common Entrance Test (CET) of August 2015, these candidates can apply for provisional admission subject to the condition that: (a) All parts of their qualifying degree examination shall be completed by the date of joining the course, and (b) Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with at least the required minimum marks shall be submitted at C-DAC by 30th November 2015..


Important Note: Candidates are required to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria of the course. In case a candidate is found to be non-eligible during any stage of the admission process or course delivery, his/her admission will be cancelled with immediate effect and he/she will not be able to attend any further classes.

Course Fee: The total course fees of DASDM course is Rs. 80,000/- plus taxes extra as applicable by Government of India. The fees of DASDM course is to be paid in four installments as provided in the table below:

The candidate has to pay the admission fees and Tuition fees in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of"C-DAC ACTS"payable at Pune from any nationalised bank. The Demand Draft has to be submitted in person at the Training centre where he/she wishes to join. The list of training centres are given on the website.


The course fee includes the cost of course delivery, computer lab usage, examinations, final mark-list/certificate, and placement assistance provided at the training centre. Candidates may take note that no cheque or cash will be accepted towards payment of any installment of fees.


The Admission fees and Tuition fees once paid shall not be refunded in any circumstances.

Application Fee

Application form can be filled online from the website www.acts.cdac.in.


The application fees of Rs. 600/- (Rupees Six hundred only) is to be paid in the form of Demand Draft in favour of"C-DAC ACTS"payable at Pune drawn on any nationalized bank.


Demand Draft of Rs. 600/- has to be submitted to the training centre where the student wish to take admission for the course. The facility of online payment gateway to pay the application fees of Rs. 600/- using the credit card or debit card is also available on the website.

Common Entrance Test (CET)

The admission to the DASDM course is through a Common Entrance Test (CET) which shall be conducted twice for a batch. The syllabus of the CET comprises of the following:


Computing Awareness (40 questions)
Evolutions of computers, Computer generations, Computer organization, Primary and Secondary storage, Input-output devices, Computer software, Operating systems, Data communications and computer networking, Multimedia, Classification of computers,Algorithms, Flow charts, Fundamentals of Programming, Utility Software, Computer Security, etc.


Functional English (20 questions)


Mathematical Aptitude (20 questions)


Reasoning (20 questions)

CET Admit Cards

The Admit cards can be downloaded from the website on 22nd August, 2015. The candidates will not be able to download the Admit Cards, if their DDs have not been received at the C-DAC training Centre. No candidate will be permitted to appear in CET test without a valid Admit Card. The Admit Card should be presented to the invigilators/ officials for verification.

Result

The result of the CET will be published centrewise. Students will be only eligible to take admission in the centre where he has applied at the time of filling the application form. The Candidate will be ranked based on the score he has secured in the CET.

What Happens on Important Dates?

(a) Start Date of Online Registration and Application: 15th June,2015
The process of admission to C-DAC's Diploma course begins with Registration of prospective candidates on the C-DAC website, acts.cdac.in. Upon registering, candidates will get their form number that can be used to log in and fill the CET application form online. The form number must be remembered by the candidate as it will be the reference number and login ID of the candidate during the whole admission process. Read carefully the instructions on the C-DAC website while filling the online registration and application forms.

Alternatively the application form can be downloaded from website acts.cdac.in and submit the duly filled application form along with DD of Rs. 600/- at the centre where he wished to take Common Entrance Test (CET) and admission.

The candidate will get the Form No. and password in his mail id. Once candidates have completed registration, the next step is to log in and fill the CET application form.

After filling the application form, candidates have to upload their passport size photograph. The next step is payment of CET application fee that may be paid online or by demand draft. The details of payment are given in the section Application Fee.

The steps successfully completed in the application process are shown with a tick-mark on the main menu of the online application. Candidates facing any issues during the downloading of form or any other query online registration and application may contact C-DAC ACTS, Pune, through phone (020-25503100/01/06/07) or e-mail (acts@cdac.in). As CET will be conducted on two different dates, there will be two different last dates of applications as mentioned below:


(b) Last Date of Online Registration & submission of Application Forms and Payment of Application Fee: 21st July, 2015
The online registration of candidates and submission of application forms will close on 21st July, 2015. The payment of application fee through Demand Draft (DD) as well as online mode will also close on 21st July, 2015. If the application fee is paid through DD, the DD should strictly reach C-DAC Pune before 5 pm on the above-mentioned last date. The delays due to postal or any other reason will not be acceptable.


(c) Downloading Admit Cards : 24th July, 2015
Candidates can download their admit cards by logging in on the website acts.cdac.in with the form no. and password sent at the mail id mentioned in the application form on the C-DAC website. After downloading the admit cards, candidates should examine all the entries therein and also carefully read and follow the instructions on the cards. In case of any discrepancy in the details provided, or if candidates are unable to download the online admit card, then they should contact C-DAC ACTS, Pune, immediately through phone (020-25503100/01/06/07) or e-mail (acts-tcm@cdac.in), giving their name and application form number. No candidate will be permitted to appear for CET without a valid admit card. Candidates will not be able to download their admit cards, if their DDs have not been received at C-DAC Pune before the last date of payment.


(d) C-DAC's Common Entrance Test (CET):CET I : 25th July, 2015, CET II : 26th July, 2015
The CET for admission to the 2015 batch of Diploma course will be conducted on on 25th July, 2015 and 26th July, 2015 in the Training Centres of C-DAC. The details of CET are given in the section C-DAC's Common Enterance Test. Candidates must appear for CET on the specified date at the venue mentioned on the admit card. The CET is conducted manual paper and pen examination. The candidate has to appear for a 120 minutes test where he has to attempt 100 questions. The questions are objective type question paper i.e. the students have to choose one answer from a four choices of answers.


(e)Announcement of CET Results 31st July, 2015
CET results will be published on the C-DAC website http://cdac.in/index.aspx?id=edu_acts_Result on 31st July, 2015 In order to be considered for admission to the course, a candidate's name must appear in the rank-list and also satisfy its minimum eligibility criteria. The result is announced for the all the candidates who have appeared for the CET in the particular training centre.


(f) Last date of payment of Admission Fees (Rs. 11,236) and Tuition Fees (Rs. 22,472) total of Rs 33,708/- in form of DD 07th August 2015
The candidates appearing in the ranklist for a training centre shall pay the Admission Fees of Rs. 11,236/- (Rupees Eleven thousand two hundred and thirty six only) and the Tuition fees of Rs. 22,472/- (Rupees Twenty two thousand four hundred and seventy two only) i.e. sum total of Rs. 33,708/- (Rupees Thirty three thousand seven hundred and eight only) for confirmation of the seat in the training centre. The payment of the course fees of Rs. 33,708/- shall be made through Demand Draft drawn on any nationalised bank in favour of C-DAC, ACTS payable at Pune. The demand draft is to be submitted at the Training Centre where the candidate has to undergo the training.
The demand draft shall be submitted to the training centre by 07th August 2015. The candidate should also write his/her name and form number on the reverse side of the DD

Important Note: Candidates will be permitted to select only one training centre at the time of filling in the application form. They cannot opt/apply for any other centre than what they had initially applied for under any circumstances. A candidate has to select the training centre of his choice as desired during application form. Under any circumstance, a candidate will not be allocated another centre, which was not selected during the application stage.

(g) Certificate Verification 17th August 2015
Upon payment of Admission and Tuition fees, the selected candidates will be enrolled as C-DAC students at the respective training centres. They will get a student identity number.

At the time of registration, candidates need to show their photo identity cards for identification, submit three passport-size colour photographs and photocopies of qualifying degree certificate or provisional/passing certificate from the university. The original certificates should be presented for verification at the time of registration.


(h) Second Selection List 17th August 2015
After the registration of the students to the training centre for certificate verification if there are any seats available with the training centre, the wait listed candidates will be called for counselling at the training centre. One round of councelling shall be conducted with all the waitlisted students. The councelling shall be conducted with all the students at the training centre.


(i) Last date of payment of Admission Fees (Rs. 11,236) and Tuition Fees (Rs. 22,472) total of Rs 33,708/- in form of DD 07th August 2015
The candidates appearing in the second ranklist for a training centre shall pay the Admission Fees of Rs. 11,236/- (Rupees Eleven thousand two hundred and thirty six only) and the Tuition fees of Rs. 22,472/- (Rupees Twenty two thousand four hundred and seventy two only) i.e. sum total of Rs. 33,708/- (Rupees Thirty three thousand seven hundred and eight only) for confirmation of the seat in the training centre. The payment of the course fees of Rs. 33,708/- shall be made through Demand Draft drawn on any nationalised bank in favour of C-DAC, ACTS payable at Pune. The demand draft is to be submitted at the Training Centre where the candidate has to undergo the training.

(j) Certificate Verification 17th August 2015
Upon payment of Admission and Tuition fees, the selected candidates from the second list will be enrolled as C-DAC students at the respective training centres. They will get a student identity number. At the time of registration, candidates need to show their photo identity cards for identification, submit three passport-size colour photographs and photocopies of qualifying degree certificate or provisional/passing certificate from the university. The original certificates should be presented for verification at the time of registration.
Candidates who do not have their qualifying degree certificate (including students who have appeared for the qualifying examination and awaiting results) will be given provisional admission on submitting (at the admitting centre) the proof that they have already taken all the examinations for their qualifying degree at the time of registration. These students will have to submit (at the admitted centre) the proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required minimum marks to confirm their admission.

Important Note: Candidates who are provisionally admitted as students but are unable to produce the proof of qualification by 18th August 2015 will have their admissions cancelled. They will not be eligible for any refund.

(K) Commencement of Course 18th August 2015
Classes for the 2015 batch of the course at all training centres of C-DAC will begin on 18th August 2015

Important Note:
(i) C-DAC reserves the right to cancel a course, if conducting the course is unviable (in the opinion of C-DAC), due to lack of the required minimum number of students for that course in a particular training centre. In the event of a course being cancelled, the full fees will be refunded to the candidates or alternate admission will be offered as per their ranks.

(ii) C-DAC has the right to cancel, at any stage, the admission of any candidate who is found to have been admitted to a course to which he/she is not entitled, being unqualified or ineligible in accordance with the rules and regulations in force.
